Catherine Higgitt @NationalGallery talks about their vibration monitoring during their largest renovation project. Advance testing and preparatory work was done which contributed to the success of this vibration 👍 #IICCongress

They used a SDS drill to do trial tests in gallery spaces. vibration up to 100 hertz are the most damaging to paintings. With 4 different sizes and various types of fittings that's ALOT of testing! #IICCongress

Lizzie Woolley talks about vibration monitoring, the team studied how masonry work will affect the paintings in the Houses of Parliament. You can see the wall paintings outlined with red, the renovations happened in the rooms next to it #IICCongress

The drill also gave quite a bit of vibration (the first yellow highlight from the left), Angle-grinder was the best (green highlight). #IICCongress
