Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!
A special thank you to all the security professionals working tonight and throughout the festive period – keeping our communities, venues and events safe. Your dedication doesn't go unnoticed. Here's to a safe and successful 2026!
When the nights get colder and the crowds get bigger, security teams become the quiet backbone of the room.
If you see something off—or someone struggling—speak to a licensed operative. Staying vigilant isn’t paranoia; it’s how we protect each other.

It is time to retire the archaic and macho term ‘bouncer’.
The stereotype of the burly, aggressive doorman belongs in the past. Modern security professionals bring so much more to the role—conflict resolution, vulnerability recognition, de-escalation, and empathy.
Night Time Industries Association Welcomes SIA Move to Homeland Security
We welcome today’s announcement that the Security Industry Authority (SIA) will now fall under the Minister of State for Security, Dan Jarvis, within the Home Office. This move is a vital step in strengthening protective security and standards across UK venues, ensuring alignment between private security regulation and the new Martyn’s Law regulator function.
We also support the government’s commitment to reviewing key Manchester Arena Inquiry recommendations, including the move towards business licensing.
This shift opens new opportunities for collaboration between the SIA, Home Office, and the UK private security industry to drive meaningful reform and enhance public safety. We look forward to working together to protect our venues, support our night-time economy, and keep the UK safe.

Being a police officer isn’t just a job — it’s a commitment to serve, protect, and put others first.
Every day, thousands step into the unknown, some making the ultimate sacrifice.
Today, we stand united in gratitude, remembrance, and respect for their bravery.

Licensed premises must have at least one fire exit, with fire-rated doors that meet safety standards. It’s every staff member’s duty to ensure exits are functional, accessible, and always usable.
Fire safety isn’t just a responsibility-it’s the law. Stay compliant, stay safe!🔥
