Nigeria's federal government's $2 billion Project BRIDGE - an initiative aimed at expanding the country's fibre infrastructure from from 35,000 km to 125,000 km nationwide is at risk of collapse if incidents of fibre cuts are not properly tackled.
The good news is that the National Dig-Once Policy has been designed to eradicate the incidents of indiscriminate fibre cuts. This policy mandates that Telecom infrastructure (fibre ducts & conduits be installed simultaneously with any new road, rail or bridge projects.
My thoughts on the recent directive by NCC to Telcos to compensate end users whenever cases of Quality of Service (QoS) failure are recorded.

Human beings love meaningful conversations; those conversations are memorable, and good memories pay back in the form of repeat customers & referrals.
This is just plain human psychology.
For Fibre broadband service providers, your sales team & installation technicians are ur first line of contact to ur potential customers. How they communicate ur brand value in relation to customers' pain points is the difference between a low subscriber base and a growing one.
This is not customer manipulation but a proactive shift in anticipating the customer's needs based on available data before the manifestation of those needs.
The old customer service philosophy is reactionary in nature while customer social engineering is proactive in nature.
As a service provider in the Fibre Broadband sector, how do you align your service offering and brand messaging to take advantage of this market reality?
Do you need help with crafting the appropriate message, together with a streamlined buyer’s journey process? Send a DM
Most prospective Fibre Broadband customers in Nigeria are coming from a place of unmet expectations and service mistrust due to previous poor quality service. I know this because I interact with them on a daily basis.
“Wounded” by “that data bundle vanishing without being used”, data-capped plans disguised as unlimited plans and poor quality of service (QoS) generally, the average fibre customer needs empathy and a genuine assurance first, more than another promise of Mbps Eldorado.
