As usual, #CPM has started talking without even understanding the actual facts. 🤦🏻‍♀️

First, the scheme to provide cars to MLAs has only been announced. The proper G.O. hasn’t even been issued. Only after the G.O. comes out will we know who is eligible, what the criteria are, and how it will be implemented.

So, it’s too early to judge the scheme, let alone compare it with the farmers’ loan waiver.

The farmers’ loan waiver has specific RBI rules and financial constraints. Once implemented, the government has to settle the eligible amount with cooperative banks within 45–60 days. A complete waiver therefore requires arranging and disbursing a very large amount within a limited timeframe.
