Bomb Threat to Cuttack, Sambalpur District Courts; Premises Vacated

Security agencies were put on high alert today after bomb threat emails were reportedly received at the District Courts in Cuttack and Sambalpur in Odisha, triggering immediate emergency responses.

Following the threat, court premises were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and police teams rushed to the spot. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads were also deployed to conduct thorough searches of the court buildings.

According to preliminary information, the threat was received via email, prompting court authorities to inform the local police without delay. No suspicious object has been detected so far, officials said, adding that search operations are continuing.

Court proceedings were suspended and entry into the premises was restricted until security clearance is completed.

Police officials said the source of the email is being traced, and cyber teams have been engaged to verify its origin. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the security sweep.
