We had the privilege of a visit from a Chelsea Pensioner, former Glapthorn School pupil Roy Palmer. He entertained the children with poems he had written and enlightening stories of life at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. It was fascinating!
News from Ilam - fabulous day abseiling and canoeing had by all and now heading back to hostel for tea and medals. Everyone officially tired, and pretty proud of their achievements today!
Friends of Glapthorn School (FOGS) have given our nature area and bird hide behind the school a wonderful facelift. We, and the neighbouring wildlife, are really delighted with it! Thank you FOGS.
During half term we enhanced our playground by having an exciting new trim trail installed, plus some wonderful blackboards and benches. No doubt the children will soon be negotiating for longer playtimes!
Thanks to parents' terrific generosity in sponsoring their children's training circuits with Amy Smith, Olympic swimmer, last term, this is the fabulous new sports kit we have acquired for the School. Thank you so much!

After a good sleep and a big cooked breakfast, the children thoroughly enjoyed a morning of archery and rice crispie goo! All are looking forward to hotdogs before packing down camp. Please note that pick up time is 3pm. We look forward to hearing all about BushCraft tomorrow!
Our happy campers have been making and trying out traps, making their own pizzas and cooking them in an outdoor wood-fired oven, making survival bracelets, and are now panassing salmon ready for dinner! We're certain they'll sleep well tonight in the comfort of their bell tents!
