Once again, the judicial farce to break our spirits and prolong state-sponsored terror has taken place.

Today, Justice Simon Peter Kinobe offered yet another predictable excuse, pushing comrade Sam Mugumya’s habeas corpus application to 17th November. First it was election petitions on September 15th, and today, the exact same story. Sam has spent over a year in illegal detention.

The court chooses to focus on political technicalities while deliberately turning a blind eye to horrific video evidence of Sam suffering in military torture chambers and Muhoozi's tweets.
As Sam so powerfully wrote in one of his poems: ​"Necktie personages who have become the fountain of crime."

You can weaponize the bench, twist the statutes and use the law to prolong torture and despicable acts, but no tyranny lasts forever. In the end, JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL.

The People’s Front for Freedom demands the immediate and conditional release of Sam Mugumya or produce him before a competent court in case of any case to answer. We further demand accountability for all perpetrators hiding behind judicial robes and military uniforms.

No rubber-stamp court can legitimize state brutality!

On that day of 9th October 2026, as Ugandans celebrate flag independence, we shall explore and share our knowledge of a well-loved freedom fighter who was abducted and has been disappeared for almost two years now.

Sam Mugumya’s court case is scheduled for today. Whatever the outcome of court, please join us on Friday evening and learn more about Sam. There will also be an open microphone to include submissions of people who want to either ask questions or share reflections about Sam.

Afande, there is no need to labour through lengthy explanations about the alleged criminal conduct of the former officer. The more fundamental issue is Sam Mugumya. Produce him publicly, in good health, and let Ugandans see and hear from him. Until then, attacking the credibility of the person making the allegations does not, by itself, answer the serious questions raised.
