If you take a look at both clubs, Arsenal found out about their back up strikers injury yesterday, and a day later are ready to wrap up a deal for a replacement. Maddison tore his ACL nearly 3 weeks ago and we’re left with nothing.
The way we’re run as a club is embarrassing.

In his time as manager, Bill Nicholson finished 18th once & 11th twice. Keith Burkinshaw finished 22nd, 11th & 14th. They also won 11 trophies between them. If Daniel Levy had been our chairman at that time, they wouldn’t have. He doesn’t get it. He never has. He never will

This is the most disconnected I’ve been to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

All of our history, our DNA, our principles, have been ignored with this decision.

To Dare and to Do
is now considered failure.

The club now has two options.

1) They install a world class manager, add experience to the first XI, and invest further in the squad to compete across all competitions next season.

If this happens, I will understand the decision to sack Ange Postecoglou, I won’t agree with it, but I will understand it.

I don’t believe this will happen.

2) They install a manager like Frank, a coach, with the aim of maximising our younger assets over the next 3-5 years.

Winning assets, like Romero, Bentancur, Porro, will likely be sold.

Let’s be clear, if this happens, we are not using this opportunity as a springboard as per Daniel Levy.

We are not building, we are rebuilding.

Again.

So don’t tell me I didn’t warn you. I’ve been one of the most vocal on here about this decision and its impact.

Of course I hope I’m wrong, and we springboard our way to option 1.

That is the dream, and I will hold my hands up and admit that I got it wrong if that happens.

But I feel we’re resigned to option 2.

If that is the reality…

I will always support the team, always have, always will.

But I will not support this club whilst on-field success is merely an after thought.

I will not back mediocrity over glory.

For those that aren’t bored yet, there is an option 2b, which is also highly likely;

And that is;
Levy is seriously looking to sell the club.

Hear me out.

As with any sale, in business or in life, you look to maximise your assets and reduce your liabilities.

Levy knows what it would take financially to push this club on, in terms of player acquisitions and improved contracts for existing assets.

If he’s actively looking to sell the club, he would need to do the opposite.

- Sell players at their max value, i.e. now
- Reduce our wage bill
- Maximise the value of existing assets (Coaching young players)

This aligns with an appointment like Frank.

Whilst I’m convinced Levy will choose to run with Option 2, the variant is very much unclear.

2a leaves us in a perpetual rebuild, with normal service resumed.

2b brings its own risks, as a change of ownership is most definitely a lottery.

So revising my position,

Option 1’s springboard to success is my hope, and what’s best for the club.

Option 2b’s change of ownership is a risk, but likely worth taking if Option 1 is never going to happen.

Option 2a’s perpetual rebuild is the worst possible outcome for the club, but unfortunately, the most likely.
