Calling a by-election in Clacton is a spectacular own goal by Farage. No other party will stand. So the by-election choice is either Nigel Farage or Count Binface. Farage will therefore spend the next few weeks in Clacton fighting a by-election against a bloke with a bin on his head. And because no other party is standing, Count Binface will hoover up a heap of tactical votes. Farage has hoisted with his own petard here.
