Finally got around to my list of the best documentaries of 2023 (+ some fun extras). Films from USA, Canada, France, Brazil, Tunisia and even Greenland. A remarkably strong year for films about First Nations people, too. And a lil somebody called Beyonce. https://t.co/mIv476RQho
The @sydfilmfest has begun and my first review is now up. It is for the largely quite captivating avant-garde work of performance art and activism, JOY BOY: A TRIBUTE TO JULIUS EASTMAN. At only 60-minutes, your mileage may vary but I dug the vibes a lot https://t.co/AgdH96fwtS
@7NewsMelbourne So, the market is near impossible for wannabe first homebuyers to get into but now that they might stand a chance it’s bad because the rich oldies hoarding properties will only make $1.5mil instead of $1.6mil? These news people want it both ways. Unaffordable or too affordable!
@pittworldwide@EmpireCityBO@FocusFeatures@blumhouse Look at the horror stories of the Blair Witch Project to see how little can sometimes be done. One hopes the producers carved a nice contract for everyone when it was sold to Focus should it reach a certain threshold.
@trashmatsuit I had a tattoo based on this film’s original poster artwork (that was then reiterated in the blu ray) but ultimately never got to it. Maybe one day!
@FroderickF59295@udangsausmanis@Treasur86279282@TheMale_Central It matters because Hollywood actively refuses to cast openly gay actors in major roles most of the time which is why so many are closeted (as an actor, apparently, surely you’d be familiar with the concept). Fostering new openly gay lead performers is important for visibility.
