The students learned about the new wing of the K’ville Fire Station 26. They seen building construction, Fire and life safety equipment and a view of the “firehouse” life. Thank you to the Samet Corporation, and Chief Alderman with the TOKFRD and Samet Corporation.
It was a pleasure to host the students of the Glenn Fire Academy at our Kville Fire Station 26 renovation. The students had the opportunity to learn firsthand what goes into fire station construction and different fire-rated building features @glennfire
Today the Fire Tech 2 students continued completing search drill today. They are getting and faster completing their primary searches. Even realizing if they can see their feet then get up and move. Of course some have to pose for fun. #futurefirefighters#GHSFA#specialseniors
The class picture inside is the Fire Tech 1 students, their 1st semester in the program. The outside, the 2nd semester and also my Seniors. This group has been with me since I came to Glenn All of my past “seniors” have been special. But this will hold a unique place in my heart.
Part of the being in the fire service you have to inventory, clean and prepare your equipment. Yesterday the Fire tech 3 students (Seniors) cleaned all the compartments and tools. Today the Fire tech 2 students made sure the outside is clean #somearecompletingthejourney
Today the seniors completed an assignment given to them at the start of this semester. They were interviewed and received constructive feedback to prepare them for the “day after graduation”, when life becomes real. #completingthejourney#futureleaders#classof2023
Today at the Glenn firehouse, the Fire tech 3 students gained confidence fitting in “tight spaces” in full gear and SCBA. These students are preparing for next week’s “ finale” as they will be finishing the program . #concludingthejourney#futurefirefighters#fGHSFA#classof2023
Fire tech 2 students today continue working on their CPR skills for certification. These skills learned, are what are called “life lessons” that could be used beyond high school
Today the Seniors of the Fire Academy loaded up and completed their skills for extrication. Thanks to Bj Joyce, Brad Farmer and AJ Joyce for providing guidance and knowledge to the next generation. These folks are down to just a few days left before completing the program.
Real life training. Today at the GHS firehouse, Ms. Coles visited with the Cadets to educate them on preparing for interviews. This class is 90% seniors that are preparing for after graduation Thank you Ms. Coles for forwarding this information to the next generation.
“Getting all tied up”. Thanks to the guys on FCFD109 (Forsyth County Emergency Services), for working with the Robert B. Glenn High School Fire Tech 2 students on learning additional ways to tie the “basic 8” Fire service knots.
