there is an alternate thought. that in the creed, you have to be able to accept the baptism. "i accept 1 baptism for the remission of sin". how can a 12 day old accept it? and if baptized at birth, can you accept baptism at the age of reason? would it not be the right way to instead of baptism, pray over the child for the lord to protect them and then anoint their head with holy oil? if you are worried about original sin, the answer there is that Christ thru crucifixion has taken away the original sin.
@sentdefender One comment. Noone is reading the MOU right. it is NOT a treaty. it is simply an understanding that says ok, lets do a cease fire for 60 days while we work out a peace deal treaty. it is NOT the final product. MOU= memorandum of understanding.
predestination huh???? here is a conundrum for you.
God gave Man the gift of choice.
but if there is choice and we are not stuck in the path we are on, there can be no time travel.
if there is time travel then there can be no freedom of choice.
did I just do something because i chose to, or, because that is what i had no choice in doing?
so, by my reading, all catholic priests have met Jesus and have been given the Holy Ghost?
"19Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
20And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
21Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained."
here i ask? where in the bible does it say that when God created the heavens and the earth, that he did not create on other planets, intelligent beings? yes it does say that God created Man in His image, but, does not say that is the only image he has created in such a vast universe?
@Xtopher_Uzo was Peter "ordained" by the church? or was he simply a follower and student of Jesus? and was he not allowed to teach and bring God's gifts to the people?
@Xtopher_Uzo Why do I have to be "ordained" as a catholic priest to offer what God has given? If I, In Gods name offer what has been given, why would I have to be "ordained" by any of the named religions?
@Catholingo Praying to Mary is wrong.
thanking her is right.
asking for her or any other man named "saint" to intercede is wrong.
as Jesus said, All prayers to God, my Father, go thru Me.
so to ask Jesus to intercede is the right way
interesting, congress does not have that power. congress can only declare war. it can not end it. and since congress did noteven declare a war in this case they are outside their duties. now the only thing the SENATE (not the house) can do is, to approve the deal (treaty) with Iran, by 2/3 of the senators PRESENT.
ok let me make this as clear as mud by posting article 2 section 2 on treaties
"He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur"
so my read is that 2/3 of the senate have to approve treaties
@ChadPergram as I understand it. schumer dont get to see it till after its signed. as all treaties signed have to be approved by congress. but they dont get to see them till after signing because they are not a treaty until signed.
Schumer on the floor now. Says senators still don't have details about Iran agreement. Says "the devil is in the details." Says Trump "must brief Congress immediately"
a thought on this. could works not refer to the way you live your daily life? by following the christian path. not being the christmas christian and by being the year round christian? so my works would be, me living in Christ every day. not necessarily haveing to tith or give the poor alms or any of that earthly way of doing something to make yourself feel good.
@MasterMaliq no revisions huh? then explain why, in reading the quoran and studying it, the quoran says that if 2 verses differ, then the later not the previous verse is to be the truth? i would say that that in itself is a revision.
hmmmmm, a good question. as most of us know not how the meat has come to our table, yet we partake in it. but how do we partake? what is done before the feast has started? is not the blessing of God asked for before each meal? so, can we not eat that which, thru our devotions, have asked God to bless the meal, thereby casting out the objectional part that is given to the meat?
My answer is thus. if the meat be not unclean, then my request to the Lord to bless the meal would make it safe to eat.
