@Sean_Smyth @Kellie_T92 Glass does not degrade by remelting many times and can be used as a pure recycled material without adding other materials. It’s in industrial processes where purity/colour and consistency of production are necessary is when added materials help to regularise this.
@Kellie_T92 2/2 the more you sort the glass at source the less energy is needed to sort at arrival. Most trucks have divisions inside their containers. The more consistent the colour the less raw sand is needed to make glass. Glass is infinitely recyclable. Fact. We know a bit about it😀
@Kellie_T92 This is the recycling plant that receives almost all the recycled bottles that have come from recycling plants including your mixed load. It is fine sorted by lazer before it comes to here. Up to 80% of the green bottles are made from a mix of recycled material. #glassreccyling
