@Sapphire_lives@muheediva01 If ASOIAF was 500 pages we would be almost 10 books deep instead of 5. Definitely would had never finished.
IT would suffer from being a shorter story or a series.
I can see your argument tho. I just rather read one big book than 2 medium size book covering the same story.
@odeliamooon I mean, when people started confessing to skipping anything that wasn't dialogue, I realized a lot of people in the book sphere don't read for growth and pleasure but for aesthetic and consumerism
@SamSterling1633@muheediva01 exactly! Those books are good because the author wasn't worried about size and focused on world building.
Imagine if the bookd were less than 400pg. The story would be average
@Sapphire_lives@muheediva01 Depends on the genre. A fantasy book needs the extra pages. You'll end up with a small world and not enough culture.
A good horror benefits from the extra time building tension.
This is probably true of a Romcom. Idk that I could read a Romcom that was more than 500pg
@yissoconfused I am generally a really fast reader and 20 books in two weeks feel unreal, unless those 20 books were instruction manuals and comic books.
Social Media would be a better place if people talked about the things they enjoy more instead of criticizing the things they don't.
Living in a state of constant criticism makes the mind so negative and that affects yout mood.
@NixanthyNoir I was scared of long books. Took a while to build the stamina.
Now a lot of my favorite books are on the longer end. It gives you more time in the world and with the characters so it's a very immersing experience.
