@Iron_Spike I feel like we need more appreciation for Wayne Gretzky's dad, who was brilliant in teaching him early on how to be a *rich and famous* athlete, not just a great one. Finances, altruism, public presentation, not being a shitty person, etc etc. And also hockey hockey hockey.

@Iron_Spike So my dad worked in medtech, & he said part of the reason he & his colleagues were hoodwinked is bc they *so badly* wanted it to be true. Maybe for greed, but also for their patients & the huge difference this device could make in their lives. They did half the fooling for her.

@Iron_Spike My dad grew up in Detroit, I was still little when he explained unions to me & told me about the labor rebellions. There are AWU buildings all over southeast MI. "Pink slips" were regular student news when I was in school. I literally cannot make sense of anti-labor sentiment.

Decided to get over my hangups and just Start Doing creative writing! Big day! Spent 2 hours stream-of-consciousness putting my very first short story to page. It was turning out pretty well for a first go, feeling great, then the program closed and I LOST ALL OF IT LMAOOO #endme

This is kind of esp heartbreaking bc it was around a concept I've been screwing around with for like a year and this was my first time I dared put an actual narrative to it. It was not amazing work but it was better than I expected of myself and I was proud of it.
