@realshawnmills You’re just a cynic who buys conspiracy theories, assumes the worst of people in government, and makes unsubstantiated allegations. Totally fine with me if you’ve got nothing else to say to me. I did give you an answer, you just didn’t like it.
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca Not buying any of it Shawn. The word “support”, “tolerate “, or any others would have fit the bill just fine to make a strong statement. “Allow” is the wrong word — it depicts control over the other person that you just don’t have. That is a red flag in a relationship.
@realshawnmills@patrickbetdavid Aww, must really be touching your raw nerves, Shawn. Your level of personal attacks is way up, my friend, so maybe you need a little time away from Twitter. And you are dead wrong about private schools. Way too privileged and lacking of diversity.
@IsabellaMDeLuca It’s all in the way you say it. Maybe you could use a lesson in how to say things in ways that don’t piss of people…but I’m pretty sure that is one your desired outcomes, so the lesson would be wasted.
@realshawnmills@patrickbetdavid Yeah, but different can be both better and worse. In addition, no two public school systems are the same, nor are two schools the same, so to make some generalized judgement about public (or private) schools is ridiculous. Typical of conservatives to do so.
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca This is about word usage. In adult-adult relationships, you rarely, if ever, hear people say "I do not or will not ALLOW my spouse/partner to do..." They are not your children nor are they your employees, so ALLOW is not the correct term and implies control that you don't have.
@VivekGRamaswamy Sure it does. 75 million people voted for Trump and many millions choose to get their “news” from Faux News. Clearly leaving education to the states isn’t working, especially in the red states.
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca /3 Shawn, try to read my words more carefully before you reply. I've said nothing to suggest that I think posting to Only Fans is okay, so spare me the lecture on standards that you think I don't have. I'm arguing that DeLuca made a stupid statement using the term "allow".
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca /2 Are you going to take away her phone? How are you going to stop her? If your answer is about consequences, that has nothing to do with "allow". You're just trying to stop her from doing it, but you don't have the control over her that lets you say "I won't allow it."
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca /1 You and I are not disagreeing about what she is complaining about or standards. I'm making the point about her use of the word allow in a relationship. If you found out today that Catia put something on that site, tell me how you would then not "allow" it?
@SpeakerMcCarthy “Pursuit of the truth”…what a joke. Funny how pursuit of the truth is ONLY important to Repubs when they think it will be to their advantage, otherwise it’s “truth be damned”. Use the words you mean… “pursuit of retribution”.
@IsabellaMDeLuca Amazing how simple your mind is. What about when the family is dysfunctional and abusive towards the woman??? It must be nice to live in the fantasy world where all families are wonderful and respectful. You sound like a woman from the movie “The Stepford Wives”. Wake up.
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca /2 ... "I will not allow you to (fill in the blank)". DeLuca could have used the words "agree to", "put up with", "tolerate", or some others and I wouldn't have batted an eye, but her using the word "allow" speaks volumes about how she thinks relationships work...and that's sad.
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca /1 The word allow conveys a strong degree of control...and you know it. That word is typically used in contexts like "I don't allow my cat on the kitchen counter" or "I don't allow my toddler to draw on walls in the house." Tell me how many times you've told Catia...
@realshawnmills@IsabellaMDeLuca Sorry, Shawn, you’re aren’t the judge and jury about winning/losing an argument. Her statement makes the assumption that if a woman is in Only Fans, the boyfriend or husband must have allowed it. It’s an attempt to put the blame where it doesn’t belong. She made the choice.
@realshawnmills@marcelluswiley Shawn, funny but I thought the same about you. Usually you have better points than you’ve made tonight. You know I’m not saying that someone who declares they are trans lose their athletic ability. I am talking about research needed about those who have made a transformation.
