Garrett Mathis

Faith, family and farming. 5th generation farmer in the southern South Plains of Texas, growing corn, cotton, wheat and sorghum.

@elonmusk I would love to hear your thoughts on agriculture in the United States and how it fits into your American party.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@elonmuskADO A. Yes!

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@WillGillySutton @SunlightShine55 @princessBabs3 @greg_price11 Wow. That’s brilliant! I must be an epic failure because I may or may not have had a semi-automatic rifle for many years and it has never killed anyone and I have never thought about shooting up a school. I guess I’m too old school.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@Deere_Salesman Today is 30-35, tomorrow is 35-50 with gusts to 70 in the Texas Panhandle. Red Flag warning through Wednesday morning.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@QShieldknight Good luck!

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@Deere_Salesman Ours expire 12-31-23 and get to do them again. 🤦🏻‍♂️

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@lathemfarms Love our #pioneer1000. They don’t pack mud around the CV joints and don’t burn up drive belts. Much more indestructible for our help to run than the rangers were. Over 5500 miles with no issues besides a minor recall early on.

[Ty Criswell @txplainsfarmer]

Things I’ve never said: Absolutely love how cotton just shoots out of the ground and puts on leaves super fast. Really cool.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@Kimbrellfarms06 Wish we had some to harvest! Ours didn’t make the drought.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@jasonbirkenfeld What’s wheat? We don’t have any of that around us!

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

I’ve got tickets to Zack Williams tomorrow in Lubbock @ 7. Can’t go. If interested let me know.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@Deere_Salesman SureFire is an amazing company. Been working with them for almost 10 years. It’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown over that time.

[Mark Adams @CoachAdams_ECU]

What an amazing night!

Thanks to our amazing students and fans for creating the best atmosphere in the nation and to @TexasTechPD and @LubbockPolice for doing an incredible job all week! I couldn’t be more proud of our team and everyone who played a role in last night.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@QShieldknight Let me know if you like it. I’ve been looking at that model. Was curious how good the air fryer drawers worked.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

#harvest21 is in the books. Heading them back to the barn to be cleaned up in the next few days. #sorghum ended up making pretty good!

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@AltaSeeds The field averaged 5600#. South side wasn’t as good but north half had a big section of it holding between 7000-7500#. First year with @AltaSeeds and have been very pleased with yield and test weight.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@LassMike I think I either changed a diaper one time or gave him a bottle. He ain’t that old, and the white hair in my beard is from the sun, not age. RIGHT?!?!?…………right? 😂

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

@LassMike happy birthday to the best baseball coach I’ve ever had! Here’s to many more sunset pics and busted fences in the next several trips around the sun!

@tomrgregory @Jamestanbug 7 oz sivanto & .25%/vol NIS for the aphids.

[Garrett Mathis @glm_farms]

So begins the battle against SCA and army worms. Was hoping to miss out but @Jamestanbug gave us a pretty lengthy homework list!
