The #AfHealthSummit is open in Accra. The @AfricanUnion Roadmap to 2030 sets out a clear vision for stronger partnerships for health, African leadership and shared responsibility.

The @GlobalFund is on the ground, working alongside partners to continue supporting nationally defined priorities to build stronger, more resilient health systems and accelerate progress against HIV, TB & malaria.

The Extraordinary Summit on Health has kicked off in Accra, Ghana, with leaders calling for stronger political commitment, sustainable health financing, resilient health systems, and African-led solutions to safeguard the continent's health future.

Expected outcomes include:
1. Adoption of a Declaration on implementing the fully costed AU Roadmap to 2030.
2. Strengthened political commitment to ending AIDS and TB, and reducing maternal deaths.
3. Increased momentum for sustainable domestic health financing and local pharmaceutical manufacturing.
4. Stronger regional and international partnerships for health.
5. Improved governance of National Public Health Institutes.
6. Renewed commitment to resilient health systems and universal access to quality healthcare.
7 .Adoption of a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework to track progress and implementation.
