@BashirMohamed @johncfirth Absolutely staff would do that. Ministers time, in my experience, is very scheduled and they don't do anything without ministerial staff present, unless they want it off the record. So - why would he want this convo off the record? B/C it's shady.

@BashirMohamed @johncfirth Not unscheduled and without others on the call. Not if it is to officially raise an issue and move towards a solution. What would be the point of a 1-1 call, without others to take notes, record decisions taken, follow-up etc. An issue this imp should have a working group, etc.

@johncfirth @BashirMohamed Exactly this. Ministers do not just call up public servants, police chiefs, etc. without their exec assistants, etc. being involved. If he had consulted them, surely someone should have said the call was a bad idea. It was personal.

I'm disappointed that so many don't see the sexism in it. It's frustrating b/c we get all outraged at today's news, but the sexist undercurrent has always been there.
