The pound might be weak against the dollar but that's great for UK tourism. It's cheap for Americans to come here and apparently they are coming here in droves!
@GNev2@UKLabour Nationalising our railways won't improve customer service. When we had the nationalised British Rail, between 1948 and 1997, the service was terrible and they were losing £300,000 a day. All paid for by the tax payer, many of who never used the railways!
Before the pandemic 81,000 people were employed in air transport. Now there are only 70,000! If you need a job there are plenty going in the travel industry.
