Big moment for the GF platform, the very early version of the gloflow programming language has been open-sourced in the main gloflow repo gf_lang/ directory.
Our ambition in the future is to further improve the graphical capabilities of gf_lang for enhanced creative expression.
Also, the goal is to enhance gf_lang by giving it the ability to program server logic and the creation of web services and distributed resources.
super excited for us to transition to open-development, not just open-source code. extremely close to having our entire project road-map and detailed planning and management be completely public and accessible for viewing and contribution by all!
Ton of progress is being made on building out the Org site, automating building and publishing of documentation to it. CI/CD automation is also being significantly improved, to make it possible for the broader community to follow builds of the open-source codebase. Scaling dev!
We're starting to get more organized. Our development process, planning, feature prioritization, specification creation, need to be more open and transparent. It's not enough to just open source code, the community needs to be a part of the dev process.
We're maturing!
Excited to share that we're making progress on developing initial versions of our p2p network monitoring nodes. These will allow everyone to easily monitor key statistics and metrics on the functioning of the global gloflow p2p network, with only their web browser.
We're excited to be making progress on our initial version of the p2p protocol for our decentralized image DB. Our dream is to provide humanity access to all imagery and visual information!
Super excited about the work we're undergoing in getting the initial spec together for a GF decentralized image network protocol. First functions - flow sharing/discovery, image exchange between 2 parties, and ultra high potential decentralized image crawling!
GF net will grow!!
Initial planning on building a massively decentralized image database. Challenges for now seem to around verification of image transformations from untrusted peers, accumulation of reputation of image crawler peers over time, and social consensus of image cultural value.
Work started around a more open gloflow development process and documenting of various dev features and specifications in a public repo - gloflow-docs.
First spec to be developed in this manner is the initial draft of p2p functionality.
Thinking about a searchable decentralized image database filled by unaffiliated contributors and crawlers. Many problems to be solved, but seems possible
Slow but steady progress is being made on the initial implementation of the gloflow p2p node, to bootstrap and support the decentralized gloflow network.
Starting initial conceptual work on the p2p future of gloflow. Few basic functions based around images are the primary focus for the short term. Inspiring work.
Working on the first prototype for the new gloflow reverse-image search. Use images or segments of images as search queries.
So exciting! the large and growing image DB that we are accumulating will be searchable in a whole new way!
Inspiring to see decentralized protocols being applied to the field of human creativity and sharing of knowledge and information. We're way overdue for a social decentralized platform
