📢 CAMPAIGN LAUNCH: The Earth sent signals, and we are sending one back!
This World Environment Day, the Ghana Youth Environmental Movement (GYEM) is launching a nationwide digital campaign for #NowForClimate!
Our focus? Raising urgent awareness about Ghana’s upcoming Styrofoam Ban and mobilizing young citizens to lead the transition.
The Policy Signal: The EPA has officially announced a nationwide ban on Styrofoam packaging effective 1 January 2027.
Our Signal: Policy succeeds when citizens take action. It is time to promote individual preparedness ahead of the ban by dropping single-use foam containers today.
Get Involved Now: We have created a simple Digital Campaign Toolkit to help you amplify the message.

The Environmental Protection Authority has announced a national ban on Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam products, effective 1st January 2027.
This is a major step toward tackling plastic pollution and protecting public and environmental health in Ghana. Styrofoam takeaway packs and other polystyrene products have become symbols of a throwaway culture, clogging drains, polluting our beaches and waterways, and contributing to the growing microplastics crisis.
Manufacturers, food vendors, businesses, and consumers are being encouraged to begin transitioning to safer, reusable, and environmentally friendly packaging options ahead of the implementation date.
When backed with actions, this will be a significant win in the journey toward addressing harmful single-use plastics that pose a serious threat to our health and environment.
