D4VD PRELIMINARY HEARING DAY 3: Detective William Roecker's Cell Phone & Tesla Analysis (I tried to put this together as best I could, hard to follow at times)
Burke's trips back and forth to Santa Barbara County: April 23, May 8, May 31
April 23–24, 2025
11:01–11:11 p.m.Burke's cellphone and Tesla IMSI were both located at the Doheny Drive residence.
Celll tower placed both at the home.
11:31–11:35 p.m.Burke's cellphone began moving away from the residence.
Data suggests the phone (and Tesla) were traveling westbound, possibly on Sunset Boulevard.
12:04 a.m. (April 24) Burke's phone placed an outgoing call to Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The call went directly to voicemail.
Roecker testified this could mean her phone was off, in airplane mode, or outside network coverage.
1:28 a.m.Cell tower records placed Burke's phone near State Route 154 (San Marcos Pass) in Santa Barbara County. Tesla data also showed the vehicle in the same general area.
Around 4:03–7:07 a.m. The phone remained connected to northern cell towers before returning south.
By 7:07 a.m., both the phone and Tesla had returned toward the Doheny residence.
We also saw a map placing the phone and Tesla near a remote area off SR-154 where investigators later recovered evidence.
May 8–9, 2025
8:00 p.m. (May 8) Tesla data and phone were located placing them at the Doheny residence.
Around 1:00 a.m. (May 9) Tesla data showed the vehicle back near the SR-154 corridor in Santa Barbara County.
1:50–1:51 a.m.Cellphone and Tesla records showed nearly simultaneous connections to the same area.
Roecker testified the two devices continued traveling together.
5:15 a.m.Tesla data showed the vehicle had returned to the Doheny residence.
May 31, 2025
1:25–5:52 p.m.Burke's phone started near Doheny before traveling toward the SR-154 area.
4:47–4:48 p.m.Cellphone and Tesla records connected to the same cell tower within about a minute of each other.
6:00–8:20 p.m. Data showed the phone and Tesla traveling back south to the Doheny residence.
In what I believe was key testimony from yesterday’s transcript of the #D4vd preliminary hearing, financial adviser Benjamin Greger changed his grand jury testimony and acknowledged that he asked manager Rob Morganroth exactly what had happened after a body was found in David's Tesla.
Greger’s answer was not entirely clear, and for some reason Beth Silverman did not attempt to clarify it. However, he testified, “He did tell me, yes.”
Shortly after that conversation, Greger began coordinating with #D4vd’s mother to raise $2 million for bail in anticipation of his arrest.
Based on that testimony, and the perceived need for bail money, I believe it is reasonable to infer that Morganroth knew Celeste was murdered and David would be the suspect.

The time has come. The preliminary hearing in the #D4vd case begins tomorrow.
It is time for the prosecution to lay out its evidence and step on the neck of David Anthony Burke who I believe is responsible for one of the most horrific crimes in history.
There are several issues I will be watching closely. First, what is the context behind the prosecution’s statement that David watched Celeste “bleed out”? To me, that suggests there may have been a witness, some form of surveillance, or that David allegedly confessed this detail to someone who did not report it and kept his secret.
Second, where was Celeste’s body during the 12 days between the date prosecutors contend she was killed and she was dismembered That part of the timeline does not yet make sense to me, and I am very interested in seeing how the prosecution establishes it.
I also want to know what conversations took place after the news broke that David’s Tesla had been found with the body of a young girl inside. At the time, he was on tour. Aysia was with him. Neo had been with him. His management team was either traveling with him or in regular contact with him. What did they ask him, and what did he tell them? Or did any of them already know?
Who was staying at the house when the Tesla was towed with Celeste’s body inside? More importantly, who remained there until the night before the search warrant was served? We know from a noise complaint that someone was reportedly at the residence the night before the search. Why were they staying there? What was their understanding of why the Tesla had been parked a block away while Aysia’s vehicle remained in front of the house from the time they left for the tour until after the search warrant was served?
Did anyone receive immunity? If so, we may not hear from that witness during the preliminary hearing, but other testimony may allow us to read between the lines.
Finally, at the arraignment, David’s attorneys said the evidence would show that he was not responsible for Celeste’s death. If that is their position, how do they contend she died, and who do they claim was responsible?
In my opinion, David Anthony Burke is no longer fighting for his freedom. His fight is between the death penalty or a plea for life in prison without the possibility of parole.
This is all my opinion, but I am here for justice for #CelesteRivasHernandez and
A motion filed in the #D4vd case reveals that the investigative grand jury met on 17 separate days.
We are now only 10 days away from the preliminary hearing, and I look forward to hearing the witness testimony. We are also 10 days away from #D4vd understanding he will never experience freedom again for as long as he lives.
At the status conference, the prosecutor said the preliminary hearing is expected to last no more than three days. That means the prosecution will likely call only the witnesses and present only the evidence needed to establish probable cause, perhaps with a little extra to show David Burke the strength of the case against him.
I am particularly interested in whether anyone from David’s management team or Neo will testify. I have no information indicating whether they will be called at the preliminary hearing or held for a possible trial.
My personal opinion is that this case will not ultimately go to trial. I believe he will accept a plea shortly before the scheduled trial date, preventing many of the most gruesome details from ever being disclosed publicly. #CelesteRivasHernandez
I'm very happy there were no further continuances in the #D4VD#CelesteRivasHernandez case and the preliminary hearing will start July 21st. I will be there for each day of the hearing. This is the beginning of the process to ensure David never lives another day as a free man.
The preliminary hearing in the #D4vd case has been continued until July 21.
He is presumed innocent in the eyes of the law. But as a human being with a brain and the ability to think and perceive, I have to say this: this is not how I would expect an innocent person to direct his lawyers to act.
If I were innocent and had been sitting in jail for months on charges I did not commit, I would be telling my very high-priced lawyers, “No more delays. Get me the f##k out of here.”
But that is not what is happening.

@SF_investigates As an immigrant mother from El Salvador, Celeste’s case moved me deeply—not only because of her Salvadoran roots, but also because she was practically ignored and manipulated while she was still just a young child. Thank you very much for keeping this case alive.
#D4vd was arrested by complaint, not indictment, and the case will be submitted to the DA’s office by Monday for charging consideration.
This likely means either the Grand Jury did not return an indictment, or the DA chose not to seek one.
An arrest by complaint means there will be a preliminary hearing to determine probable cause. This is a public hearing where evidence is presented and witnesses are questioned under oath, something that is bypassed with a Grand Jury indictment.
It will be important to see whether this reflects a difference in strategy or a difference of opinion regarding the strength of the case between LAPD and the DA, or if there is another reason for proceeding this way.
Immunity agreements, whether formal or informal (proffer), remain in effect even though there was no indictment.

7+ months since Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found dismembered in the front trunk of #D4vd’s Tesla, and still no charges, no press conference, no answers.
LAPD’s own press release told the public there may be no criminal culpability beyond “concealment of a body.” That was a lie.
Concealment is a misdemeanor in CA.
Dismemberment is mutilation of a corpse, a felony.
The DA’s own legal filings confirm her body was cut apart and placed in separate bags. That is not “concealment,” and they knew that from day one. They lied to us.
So why are LAPD and the DA lying to the public?
They also sealed the Medical Examiner’s report, claiming it was only to ensure detectives received it first, yet months later it remains sealed.
Why the silence?
Why no transparency?
Why no charges?
What are they hiding?
Is this a blown investigation?
We cannot move on and forget about this case like they want us to.
Justice delayed is justice denied. The time for accountability is now. Do your jobs and remain accountable to the public you serve. #D4vd #CelesteRivasHernandez
From the LAPD public information officer regarding the arrest of David Anthony Burke for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez #D4vd#CelesteRivasHernandez
Finally! #D4vd has been arrested for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. It appears he was not indicted but rather arrested by the LAPD and charges will be sent to the DA by Monday for formal charging. More to come #CelesteRivasHernandez
