This is exactly the kind of thing that keeps Nigeria poor.

Someone solves a problem by making transport cheaper, safer and more transparent.

Then the vultures arrive.

With no creativity or capacity. Just to kill the healthy thing and eat the corpse because apparently we don’t know how to make money without destroying value.

Instead of government asking ‘how do we make this even more safe and better’ somebody somewhere is asking, ‘how do we enter inside this thing and collect?’

That is the problem. Everything cannot become an opportunity for rent seeking and extortion.

There are too many creative ways to make money for leaders to remain this dull and backward.

Nigeria already has enough problems.

Government needs to stop this bad behaviour.

Shame on FAAN.

After congratulating Nigerian children as they celebrate their day today, my heart remains heavy and troubled, knowing that some Nigerian children have remained in captivity for years. It is a shame that days, weeks, months, and even years have passed while our children continue to languish in kidnappers’ dens, with their heartbreaking images still circulating on social media.

A nation that cannot protect its children from criminals has little but shame to present to the global community. No parent can bear the shame of being unable to protect his or her children, yet here we are as a nation, moving on while our children continue to suffer in forests and captivity for years. -PO

If no one is willing to join me to cry to secure the release of my youngest sister from the harsh and harrowing den of kidnappers, I will cry my cry with my tiny voice until I am heard.

If the Nigerian government is not intentional and willing to secure her release, I will cry to the international community for help.
