IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT MISSION
On Tuesday, 7th November, 2023, the last Implementation Support Mission for 2023 was set off with a Kick-off meeting. At the meeting, Hon. George Mireku Duker, the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, expressed gratitude to the
emphasizing constant communication among all stakeholders involved. Various parties, including GLRSSMP, MESTI, EPA, Cocobod, Minerals Commission, and the Forestry Commission, participated in the Kick-off Meeting.

Earlier today, the Project Coordinating Units together with the World Bank team held a technical session with EPA Mining Dept., Forestry Commission, Minerals Commission, Water Resource Commission, Lands Commission and the GGSA on Rehabilitation of Mined-out sites.
ROAD TO IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT MISSION
The MLNR PCU and the World Bank team in a technical meeting with the Minerals Commission and the EPA Mining Department on Regulatory Strengthening & Formalization today, as part of the Pre-Mission sessions.
On November 3, 2023, the MLNR PCU and the World Bank Team met with GGSA to hold technical sessions on Geosciences, Remote Sensing and Mapping as part of the PCU’s Pre-Mission sessions.
November 7–13, 2023. To adequately report on progress, the MLNR PCU is holding Pre-Mission sessions with its IAs from November 2–6, 2023. On November 2, 2023, the MLNR PCU held sessions on Training and Technology Transfer and the 2024 Work plan and budget preparation.

On Thursday, 10th May, 2023, the Mission was set rolling with a discussion on site selection for rehabilitation. There were also session on Training and Technology Transfer as well as Environmental and Water Management.

On 10th May, the Support Mission’s team held sessions on Environmental and Social Risk Management and also had a discussion of the project's communication strategy. On preparations towards field visits as part of the Missions, discussions of the agenda and logistics were held.
On Tuesday, 9th May, the Mission’s focus was set on Monitoring and Evaluation, Watershed Sub-basin Plan, Procurement and Financial Management sessions. There was a major discussion on Galamsey in cocoa farms to wholly identify the challenges and identify meaningful solutions.
From May 8–22, 2023 the World Bank, in cooperation with the GLRSSMP PCUs and Implementing Agencies, is embarking on Implementation Support Missions in order to assess implementation progress and design other necessary supports to see the GLRSSMP through to completion.
