Great experience in Philly this weekend for the annual AERA Conference where I was able to see so many of my doc students, Penn classmates, colleagues and family from my undergrad years. Blessed to soak up all the wisdom from the giants, my contemporaries and the budding scholars

It was a professionally filling day! I had the honor of participating in my first Dissertation defenses as committee chair! I’m so proud of these new doctors for their commitment, sacrifice and investment in furthering antracist research and intentionally supporting our schools!

Unbelievable..my writing muse, Dr. Nikki Giovanni, tonight at KIPP here in DC. My identity as a writer and poet stems from her poetry! I was so proud of my doctoral student from American University, Bianca Garcia, who did a phenomenal job facilitating the conversation!

I forgot how much I missed the beach! Final night in Florida for the CPED conference. It was a great introduction to my new administrative world and allowed me to connect with some inspired educators! I also was blessed to co-present with my village from American University!
