@playinglesshurt A nitpick: With the right-hand end (2 bars) of all staves empty, suggests work on an orchestral score. (Which Papa might approve; orchestration’s tricky.) But, looking closer at individual staves, suggests the two-at-a-time (treble & bass) aspect of keyboard music. Oh well…
@tonyprinciotti In 1985, the chorus-and-orchestra in which I was cellist, celebrated by performing all the major works (Bm Mass, StJ & StM Passions, Orch. Suites), and many of the others (Cantatas, Concerti, etc.)
I came away amazed by not only how much there was, but also how good it all was.
@NancyAFrench Yep, verse 11 is pretty clear:
“…you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral… Do not even eat with such people.”
@bunsenbernerbmd From here, looks more like he’s pointing something out (rather than raising a question):
“So I know we’re all aware of the laws of physics - but one corollary that’s often overlooked is…”
@playinglesshurt Reminds me also of some chamber-music parties I’ve been to, where cellists who can read alto clef are also in demand, for covering viola parts…
@SemyonBychkov1@WagnerFestival Interesting seating arrangement in the strings, with front semicircle all violins, celli as a block in the middle, and double-basses on both left and right sides. (That is, compared to wedges for firsts, seconds, violas, celli.) Is this arrangement typical for Bayreuth?
@susanslusser@sfchronicle “Wisely shuttled up and down from the minors four times last year, and he said that learning to fail at the big-league level was a major key for him.”
Big-league? Major? Was that wordplay intended, or just a happy coincidence? 😉
Either way, music in a major key is nicer… 🎵
@NiallHarbison Thank you Niall for sharing your story. Can agree from experience, anxiety and depression are challenging.
In any case - would want you to know that the moments of joy and inspiration I’ve received (following you here over last several months) are amazing, too many to count!
