I conclude this series of tweets a bit early; the month is not yet over. However—it’s not without a reason. As this month draws to a close, let’s introspect. That year cured more than just a tumor; it made us better people. Think about it. Beat the tumor in your OWN lives; grow.
Amma, Appa and I have become stronger people; the entire family has. It hasn’t made us love each other any more; rather, it has made us realize how much we really do love each other.
Even as I walked out in tears… all the way to the chem lab… my friends were all around me. Still. It’s amazing how sadness appeals to our common humanity… it makes us better people.

For a few days every fourth week I would wake up at 5:30 am on the Hospital floor, in a big blue sleeping bag, kiss my mom goodbye, and drive home with my father. I’d get ready for school and catch the bus by 6:45. …
