#FairPlay Sunday: Argentina vs Spain

We all know the debates that light up our group chats. We have those that support Messi; we have others that believe FIFA favors Argentina. It’s a fierce, passionate debate.

But while we argue over a referee's subjective decision on a pitch in America, we are ignoring a massive, objective foul right here at home.

Through #CAB3, the game has been changed to suit a select few.

We voted this government into office based on a specific set of rules. #FairPlay means playing by those rules and stepping down in 2028. Unilaterally extending a term limit to 2030 is the ultimate unsporting conduct. It’s a blatant foul on the citizens of Zimbabwe.

This Sunday, as Argentina takes on Spain, the world will be watching. Let’s use the global stage to send a domestic message.

🟨 The Yellow Card Campaign 🟨

We are calling on every citizen to blow the whistle.

Step 1: Get a yellow card. Cut out a piece of yellow paper, use a yellow card from a game, or keep a bright yellow image ready on your phone screen.

Step 2: This Sunday, during the match, whether you are at a local bar, home with family, or watching with friends, raise your yellow card.

Step 3: Take a photo holding your yellow card and post it online with the hashtags:

FIFA referees have the power to caution players. But #WeThePeople have the ultimate power to caution our leaders.

I’ve always shared with colleagues & anyone who cares to listen that at some point the opposition developed a culture which frustrates & pushes out many. However, I advise comrades that in the worst case, there is always an option to stay at home & focus on your family. This thing of joining the murderous & ruinous party called ZanuPF is an extreme stretch and it has no justification. That said, let’s continue defending the Constitution together. CDF will be at the Zimbabwe Embassy in London to protest against the unconstitutional Constitutional Amendment.

We at DCP want to tell you straight from our hearts that our National Youth Leader Emmanuel Sitima is now being held at CID Law and Order after being taken in Mabvuku by eight unknown men who showed no warrant and gave no explanation, and we believe this arrest is political because the only thing he has ever done is defend the Constitution and fight for a better future for Zimbabwe and its young people, which should never be a crime in a country that claims to be free.

We are grateful to @ZLHRLawyers for already stepping in to handle his case, and our comrades who visited him say he is still in high spirits and resolute even after everything, which tells you the kind of man we are dealing with ,one who refuses to be broken by fear or force.

We do not yet know when he will appear in court, but we want every Zimbabwean to know that we will not abandon him, we will not shut up and we will keep demanding his release until he is standing with us again as a free man.

Our @cdfzim Deputy Spokesperson Chiedza Mlingwa shares our position regarding the removal of Jessie Majome from the position of Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission.

We believe that her removal is a well calculated and retaliatory move which is clearly designed to silence dissent and intimidate independent constitutional bodies.
