🚨 Huh? … Burnham wants to join the EU’s internal electricity market (which we don’t need to do! ) … But Brussels wants something mental in return.

It wants payment for electricity market access. But it also wants a PERMANENT financial contribution from British taxpayers to help reduce ‘economic inequality between EU regions’

Yes, you read that correctly…. Even though we aren’t in the EU they are demanding we fund poorer countries so we can be as poor as them!

What most people already understand, even without the economic terminology, is that firms like BlackRock operate less like investors and more like modern feudal landlords.

They buy essential infrastructure,water networks, ports, energy grids, data centres, and other public necessities, often using vast amounts of borrowed money and paying prices that ordinary market participants cannot match.

Once the acquisition is complete, the debt is pushed onto the acquired company itself.

The result is simple: the public pays.

Consumers repay that debt through higher water bills, rising energy prices, increased fees, and declining service quality.

The infrastructure becomes a cash-extraction machine.
Profits flow upward to shareholders and executives, while the financial burden flows downward to ordinary households.

When the model inevitably breaks down, the consequences are socialised. Communities are left with crumbling infrastructure, polluted rivers and failing services.
Thames Water's £14 billion debt mountain and repeated sewage scandals are a stark example of what happens when financial engineering takes precedence over public stewardship.

The executives who loaded the company with debt have already collected their bonuses.
The investors have already taken their returns.
And when the system finally reaches its breaking point, taxpayers are expected to pick up the bill.

Privatise the gains.
Socialise the losses.

That is the business model......

Grok confirms this is Albania yesterday. Same as France, Italy and Spain. All have different triggers (In Albania it involves alleged government corruption) But the real reasons are obvious to me.

Western societies have gradually replaced shared obligations with individual entitlements, and governments have encouraged expectations they can't finance.

The left have pushed this ideology for decades, and it even has the backing of the UN! There's a whole Sustainable Development Goal (number 10 if your interested, although they dont suggest rioting to achieve it obvs) about reducing inequality, including inequality of OUTCOME.

The issue is that equality of opportunity is not the same as equality of outcome. The idea that people should be entitled to the same rewards regardless of their contribution or attainment is communist thinking.

Governments promise more to get elected, economies cant deliver it and then expectations that governments promised collide with reality.

And now we've weakened the sense of shared responsibility, national identity and social cohesion that once held societies together! and then we threw in the mass movement of people (The UN love that too and they should also be 'equal')

We are watching the consequences of the same political ideology ... and governments have no idea how to fix it and these protesters have no idea what they actually want, except maybe lots want free money.

And the UN? oh, they are still deluded into thinking it will all be ok and everyone will live in harmony, smiling and holding hands.
