Just to say I am about to become an ex of X…. I can no longer stand the sight of that black logo, death symbol, emblem of what its maker is up to, of what more may be to come. See you over on FB or on insta, perhaps… Just keep reading poetry, please!

Pretty blown away by this shout out in Irish president Michael D. Higgins’ speech for #WorldRefugeeDay.
Maybe this can be a motivator too for other journos working on tough issues: I guess we never know where our reporting is reaching & who is listening. https://t.co/JxEaCMCTHj
Excitement! We’re delighted to be part of today's delicious line-up. If you haven't snagged tickets for Stanley Tucci, why not come to one of our 25th anniversary events instead!

This is how we win or lose the fight against big bucks and those for whom profit comes before any concern for the environment and still less for the future. Do read and sign! It’s about more than the disappearing birds…

Grateful to Gill Stoker at the Mary Evans Picture Library for choosing my poem to accompany this gorgeous image marking St Brigid’s Day and Ireland first national holiday in her honour, our ‘matron saint’. @poetryireland
It's #StBrigidsDay marking 1st day of spring in the Gaelic calendar (and a public holiday for the 1st time this year in Republic of Ireland, lucky things). Spring seems a BIT optimistic, but this lovely illustration of Brigid by F. Cayley Robinson has spring-like overtones.
Beautiful image of Brigid from the Mary Evans Picture LIbrary blog, to go with my poem St Brigid Dreams of the Arrival of Spring…chosen, aptly, as poem of the week for the week that’s in it.

This poem from ‘Mountains for Breakfast’ (Arlen House, 2017) just snuck out into the world again. Via ‘Staying Human’ (Bloodaxe, 2017) where it also got a second chance. Many thanks, Yorkshire Times.
