Graham K

Husband and father of two. Pretty big wheel down at the cracker factory.

@NHLJets @FriedgeHNIC As long as they’re referred to as records by professional teams in Winnipeg, and not franchise records. These are two different franchises. This is historically inaccurate otherwise.

@SadClubCommish @MikeHalford604 @AndyCole1984 @DhaliwalSports At the gym this morning, Black Betty came on and I quietly sang along with the Sam Hallam part. As a Vancouver ex-pat in the US your show was a great connection to the city I grew up in. Beyond sad and angry this week.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@petridishes Just read your piece on trying to perform the government’s tasks and it’s the best thing I’ve read in a long time. Hilarious, thought-provoking and maddening all at the same time. It was outstanding!

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@alexmayer34 @shannondrayer @stonejordan07 It's not baseball but right now the Vancouver Canucks have two players on the roster named Elias Pettersson. Only happened one other time in NHL history... when the Canucks had two players named Greg Adams in the 90s. Not sure if that factors in to your research but there ya go!

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@MatinaStevis Canadian expat here, living in the US. Your coverage has been invaluable. Makes my NYT subscription more than worthwhile (along with the Spelling Bee of course)

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@DhaliwalSports Late 90s I took journalism at Langara. Had to invite reporter to speak to class.

Cold-called Don and he agreed on the spot. Did great presentation, couldn’t have been nicer. Invited partner and I to watch Sports Page on set. Not many people would do that for random college kid.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@AndyKemper I can't do that - I went to Milwaukee last year and had a great time. Underrated town and stadium and a fun team. Sorry. I'd rather jinx the Texas teams or Toronto.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

Don’t tweet much anymore, but I want to share a story about me and my beloved Seattle Mariners.

I have a running gag with my cousin that I am a curse on them, and obviously their tortured history extends well beyond me, but I’m also not helping. Here’s the evidence:

[Graham K @gmk7791]

Also! The last two games I saw in person last year were the 1-0 18 inning playoff loss and a walk off home run we missed by leaving early.

This is all the God’s honest truth.

So if you have a team you hate, I’m available for hire as a professional Cooler.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

Also!

I saw Julio Rodríguez lose in the semis of the HR Derby and the AL lose the all star game.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@colmheaney Definitely remember the commercial.

Also remember that McCain’s superfries were trash.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@NHLtoSeattle @AndyEide Awful news. I got to know Andy when I worked for the Winterhawks and always enjoyed chatting with him. Had such a passion for the game and his work. My condolences to his family, friends and everyone impacted by his passing.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@megrowler Ah crap, yes indeed. My Canadian middle aged dad street cred has been completely destroyed.

[Graham K @gmk7791]

@megrowler Go with What a Good Boy, and their cover of Leonard Cohen’s Lovers in a Dangerous Time

[Graham K @gmk7791]

How times change. Used to be they were soldiers of fortune you could only contact through the Los Angeles underground. Now you can just text them.
