I saw “Supergirl” in IMAX. It wasn’t a “superhero movie” about saving the Earth through self-sacrifice as “justice” confronts “evil.” It was a coming-of-age story about saving oneself, Kara, as she struggles with her own trauma. Structurally, it feels less like “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015), where everyone is driven purely by survival instinct beyond notions of good and evil, and more like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), where heroes, villains, and scoundrels all converge.

Again, the the benevolent god-figure Jor-El who sends his only son to Earth to be a beacon of inspiration was an invention of the Donner movie and was done to both make the Superman movie appeal to general audiences in America at the time, as well as a way to convince Brando to be Jor-El (since he'd basically be playing God).

Prior to the Donner movie, Kryptonian society in the comics evolved into a very strictly and arrogant scientific society that refused to listen to Jor-El's warnings about the planet's core about to explode. Jor-El simply sent Kal-El to Earth to save him from the destruction of the planet; the whole "light to show the way" BS was invented by the Donner movie.

Superman's goodness came not from Jor-El sending him to be a beacon, but because he was raised by two kind farmers in Kansas. Gunn's Superman understood that better than any Superman movie before it, and people are mad because it didn't follow the Christ metaphor that Donner invented fifty years ago.

Aksi Aliansi Perempuan Indonesia (API), Kamis (18/6/2026) hari ini sempat dihalangi oleh aparat saat melakukan aksi long march menuju titik akhir di Jakarta Pusat. Peserta aksi masih terus maju dan membuka blokade jalan ini.

Arah aksi sempat dibuat bingung karena arahan yang tak jelas. Di cuaca yang cukup panas, para perempuan bersatu menyuarakan berbagai keresahan mereka:
-Tolak MBG.
-Wujudkan janji penyediaan lapangan kerja untuk seluruh lapisan masyarakat.
-Turunkan harga, stabilkan ekonomi.
-Hapus perluasan militerisasi dan dominasi aparat.
-Hentikan represi oleh aparat.

Per pukul 11.18 WIB, peserta aksi masih melakukan aksi long march menuju sekitar Sarinah.
