Michael Burry was asked to give advice to a 26 y/o today. Here’s his response:
1. Never stop exercising or learning.
2. Accept compromise to begin relationships.
3. Manifest the power of compounding.
4. Never gamble.
5. Have kids and be a good parent
6. If it flies or floats, rent it.
7. Buy half the house you can afford.
8. Art in the eye of the beholder is cheap.
9. Be thankful for and to all.
10. Be charitable.
I feel like the second piece of advice is very interesting and not something I’ve thought about before. 🤔
I trade $SPY & $QQQ options for a living.
This is the basic form of technical analysis I use everyday 📝
• Watch the reaction to the previous day high & low
• Watch the reaction to the pre market high & low
• Follow the bullish & bearish EMA trends
• Trade the bull & bear Flags
After nearly a decade of trading, this is just the combination I found works best for me.
It allows me to maintain a decent win rate while still keeping the simplicity I need to actually execute in real time 🤙
Trading is a solo game.
Nobody is coming to save you after a bad day.
Nobody gets the credit when you finally figure it out.
Your wins are yours. Your losses are yours.
At the end of the day, it’s you vs you.
Your point is valid. A flat $0.03 per share was used on every exit. Trades that hit the 3:55 forced close, would really fill at a worse price than a limit-style target exit. That means the article's net profit factor of 2.41 is probably overstated.
Our backtest has the same flat-cost simplification. It charged $0.03 a share on every trade. It also gave target exits a perfect fill at the target price, and filled forced-close exits at the 3:55 bar's closing price, so we flattered the results in the same direction.
Fixing it only makes our result worse. Charging more slippage on the losing 3:55 exits would push those numbers lower, not turn them positive.
@AndrewKolvet Are they gonna have to pay back the money are they gonna go to jail? I mean just tell them no more money for free is really not a punishment.
@spacexai Has anyone yet asked you when Grok Bot will have longer token life. I see all these people advertising and setting up Grok Bot businesses. My first use of Grok Bot lasted just 3 days, then I was locked out for 6 days. I'm not the only one. I have a $100 monthly account.
