Claude Fable 5 will be available again globally tomorrow.

After a series of productive conversations with the US government, we're redeploying the model with a new set of classifiers to target and block more cybersecurity tasks. In the near term, some routine tasks like coding and debugging will fall back to Opus 4.8. We’ll continue to refine these classifiers over the coming weeks to reduce false positives and better distinguish genuine misuse from legitimate requests.

We’ve also begun drafting a consensus framework—with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other Glasswing partners—for assessing the severity of AI jailbreaks and how AI developers should respond to them. We invite other industry partners and model providers to join us in this effort.

Finally, we’re scaling up our collaboration with the US government on model testing and safeguards. This will include pre-release access to models and safeguards for evaluation, information sharing on jailbreaks and misuse, and dedicated resources for joint research.

In an interview where he was asked what makes a business truly profitable, Steve Jobs answered:

“Great things in business are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people. When the Beatles were together, they did truly brilliant, innovative work. And when they split up, they did good work, but it was never the same. And I see business that way, too. It’s really always a team.”

Would he say the same thing today, when a single human can command an army of robots? And even if it still holds true right now — what about in 6 months? A year? Two years? At what point will a robot’s capacity for innovation surpass that of a group of humans?

about software licensing:

monthly sub per seat, no-engagement, churn anytime, feels like the default but kinda lazy.

vs a riskier one, maybe a better one, especially now that a bunch of folks are cooking apps thx to llms:

"satisfaction guaranteed."

if my app or saas promise is "gain time and/or money," it's very valuable. so give me X% of that gain, post-paid, when it's visible, estimated by your declarations.

same growth hack, 30 years apart. but this one sits in git history forever, gets indexed by github search, and reaches the exact buyer on every PR review.

the original hotmail footer coined the term "viral marketing" and took them 0→12M users. this version is arguably smarter: the endorsement is wrapped in the highest-status move in eng culture, co-authorship credit.

whoever shipped this at Anthropic deserves equity refresh.
