BCPSS Leader in Me Lighthouse Schools honored at school board meeting. Foley Elem, WJ Carroll, Robertsdale Elem and Elsanor. This is a process that is near and dear to my heart. So very BaldwinProud of these schools and all our LIM schools.
Best advice I ever learned from my mom, a 37 year retired educator: “If you always do & say what’s best for KIDS there will always be a place for you in education. & you will piss multiple people off along the way. Get used to it.” More true now than ever. #thatonekid
#StepSister is the “fairytale” we’ve been waiting for! I love how @JenWritesBooks gives empowering traits to the sisters and shows their struggles as they embrace their true selves. Now I cannot wait to get my hands on #Poisoned
I think my teacher evaluations for the year are done, goes something like this: You pivoted, adapted, you were flexible & persevered, you were resilient, you showed grace, you worked your tail off & you did it! Thank you, thank u! What educators have accomplished is unbelievable!
I decided a Friday night was the perfect opportunity to downsize the amount on baby clothes I’ve clung to the past 4 years. Send wine.. I am not okay. 😩
Things #HurricaneSally2020 has reminded me to be grateful for:
📍My husband’s never quit attitude
📍Selfless friends/family/neighbors
📍My child’s innocence
📍Our spring garden harvest
📍Abnormal Sept cold fronts
We are truly blessed. Even if this child is testing my soul.
It is extremely important for educators to work on their mental & physical health right now. Whether school is in person or virtual, we are dealing with stress that we have never encountered. Take time for yourself daily/weekly - read, walk, rest, spend time with loved ones.
Teacher retention: if you want to keep the best teachers, treat them like they are the best. Few teachers leave an environment where they feel valued, supported, appreciated, and treated like professionals.
What to do in a Pandemic.....my wife starts a side business as a hobby creating T-shirts with cool slogans. This one is “Patience, Grace and Flexibility.” I think this may become my mantra for this yr. Appreciate how many folks find the positive.
Wondering whether you should require students to turn on their videos during virtual class meetings? Here's an infographic to help you rethink that idea #remoteteaching#edtech#isteten#remotelearning
