Circumcision is not routinely done in most European societies (donโt know about other Western-influenced societies like the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand).
When I took my son for circumcision, it was tagged ritual circumcision in the letter I was given to take to my GP to put in his records.
In my mind I was like: Na me them call ritualist like this? Itโs interesting how religion shape cultures and belief systems.
1. Get MBBS
2. Finish NYSC and HJ
3. Pass surgery primaries.
4. Get placement and complete 30-36 months of surgery postings.
5. Pass Part 1 membership exam
6. Complete 36-48 months of senior pediatric surgery rotation
7. Pass Part 2 fellowship exam.
8. Get inducted as a pediatric surgeon.
It made me appreciate life differently. To value the people around me. To be grateful for the ordinary days. And to understand that every breath is a gift

Nothing hit me more than witnessing a child die right before my eyes during my pediatrics posting. It hit me so hard that, for a moment, I almost found myself questioning the Creator
Seeing a life so young come to an end reminded me that life is incredibly fragile.
One moment, there is a child fighting, breathing, and the next, there is silence
Medicine teaches you about diseases, treatment and saving lives, but sometimes, it also teaches you about the limits of what we can do.
