The manufacturing may sit in Asia...but a lot of the economics still flow back through U.S. equipment suppliers.
GNG data has ROIC at 46.8% for $LRCX, 41.8% for $KLAC and 29.6% for $AMAT.
That is a pretty powerful position to have while the world keeps spending to add more chip capacity.
Even crazier it's $42 BILLION not million.
And the structure is almost as interesting as the number. $AVGO is selling Anthropic the compute and helping finance the buildout too.
Great way to lock in enormous demand...but these supplier-financing relationships are becoming something investors need to watch closely as AI capex keeps scaling. Hope it works out!
Exactly. This was a big part of our recent GNG Research Buy thesis on $ACN.
AI can automate tasks, but enterprise adoption still creates a ton of integration work around legacy systems, data, security and workflows.
Today's bookings and consulting numbers gave that thesis some pretty strong support.
Watch diesel more than WTI here.
China cutting fuel exports + the U.S. potentially restricting diesel exports could tighten refined products even if crude itself remains available.
That is where this gets interesting for refiners and potentially ugly for transportation costs and inflation.
BREAKING: WTI crude oil is up 4% in the last two hours, reclaiming $92 a barrel.
Two reasons behind this move:
1. China just suspended fuel exports from its refiners.
2. The US is threatening to ban diesel exports unless France and Germany release emergency stockpiles.
Funny because this is basically the thesis we laid out in our recent $ACN research.
AI can automate pieces of consulting. But enterprise AI still has to be integrated into legacy systems, data, security and workflows.
Q4 gave that thesis more evidence. $22.2B in bookings, $9.3B in consulting revenue and a 15.3% operating margin.
We had ACN rated a Buy before today's move. AI may be changing consulting, but so far it looks more like a demand driver than an extinction event.
