I am grateful for the messages of comfort and for the prayers - online, over the telephone, and in person. This difficult season has been made bearable because of your support. Thank you!
Civil society engagement is key, someone including teachers in the communities should be empowered to follow through on education function ls at county levels
Critical, Civil Society organization need to be given the capacity to hold county governments to account as they participate in all matters of education.
Considering the required ratio of 1:25, this shows how far we are to achieving it. The psychological effect on teacher because of this is beyond imagination #pushFor10
@LarryNdivo@kachwanya Nope. I once visited an ECDE class in Kajiado county and I found a teacher handling close to 100 pupils...I believe we have people opting not to train as ECDE teachers because of the challenges they are witnessing in the sector #WorldTeachersDay#PushFor10
Today is a special day, it is a day for a group of great human beings who never get to be celebrated or appreciated enough, today is World Teachers Day and we thank all the great teachers out there, we are who we are because of you #PushFor10#WorldTeachersDay
@LarryNdivo@Sharon_Baranga@kachwanya As part of the allocations by the national government to the counties, critical services such as education and health and nutrition should be given priority.
In a recent article, @gngaira notes teachers have been working harder than ever as schools recover from the pandemic while implementing a new curriculum. Read on as he makes the case for a scheme of service for #ECDE teachers: https://t.co/plsh6C1OH3

Knowing that county education functions are only TIVETs and ECDE, there cannot be any reason why counties should not hire competent teachers and remunerate them well.
There has been misunderstanding regarding devolved units. I believe the government should do what is right to debunk this mystery by making devolution work all the way not just some select components
Indeed @LarryNdivo . ECDE teachers welfare is wanting as there is still a lot county governments need to work on to ensure proper remuneration for teachers. Most teachers are still through parents contributions and not the county government!
Actually the biggest challenge is on the implementation of the policy framework. ECDE is a devolved function in Kenya yet still enshrined in primary schools which are a national function leaving a serious confusion on reporting mechanisms affecting teachers
#ECDE teachers are crucial to helping children achieve their potential. However, they face many challenges in discharging their duties. What are some of the challenges that ECDE teachers face? @Sharon_Baranga@kachwanya#PushFor10#WorldTeachersDay
