everyone should work on art. the election is a career opportunity for criminals, and is beneath you. it has never been more important to just make something that isn't disgusting. manifest a more beautiful world, if only in the small corner of it that you can touch.
never ends with this shit. we've been on the brink of total climate collapse, with cinematically apocalyptic calamities right around the corner (starting already if you squint) for my entire adult life. in 5 years when this hasn't happened, there'll be another one looming.
[sees a short video of literally anything in the world] this is what white supremacist neoliberal capitalism hath wrought. fascism is on the rise and all that exists in the world is death and despair.

they should do an escape from new york thing but instead of criminals it should be populated by streamers. blow all the bridges, wall off manhattan, and let streamers go around filming each other, or they can just stay inside and livestream. new streamers would be airdropped in.
annual reminder that this doesn't really matter, what really matters is that the policies undertaken in response to "covid" were entirely unnecessary and a full scale assault on basic human rights and the organizing principles of modern society.
ai hucksters are massively overselling the technology's capabilities because the stories they are telling inflate the perceived value of their companies, making them rich. liberal media personalities are doing the same thing, but only so they can feel like a revolutionary.
this is the dominant milieu in all artistic fields, and it is little wonder that a sci-fi/action buddy comedy between ryan gosling and an alien puppet has received such warm welcome from the public at large.
while project hail mary is more than a bit on the hokey side, it was nevertheless extremely refreshing to watch a movie that wasn't an axe grinding left wing propaganda vehicle, buckling under the weight of its own relentless Message. the lefty believes this is basically a sin.
this ideology holds that any art which does not deliberately advance the contemporary agenda of educated, urban, first world left wingers is fit for livestock. as such, it is incapable of producing truly meaningful (much less enjoyable) creative work.
@ApertaAria@stevesond happy with the moves so far, glad they're loading up on defense. geno is a fine option considering what else was out there. feels like an organization finally moving in the right direction. but let's not forget it's the jets and they'll probably win five games no matter what.
there are two types of americans who are in perfect spiritual alignment yet believe they are in an existential war against one another: the type of person who is mad about bad bunny's halftime show, and the type of person who got the ick from mike tyson's maha ad.
when you get into a real deep groove of not caring about the news, it's alarming to see everyone who does care about the news just getting yanked around from one Most Important Thing Ever to the next, never noticing how the last one simply faded from their attention.
it is completely, absurdly false to say "20 years ago piss on the nyc subway was unimaginable". it is equally absurd (and inhumane) to say that homeless people going nuts and pissing all over themselves on the same subway car as you doesn't impact your day.
@stevesond this was the most demoralizing season in my life as a jets fan. no reason to believe the team is close to competing, it's a constant rebuild that never goes anywhere. we just root for our old draft picks who found better situations (like darnold and leonard williams).
@stevesond but i wouldn't be shocked to see them trade down for more picks as there isn't a qb worth picking in the first after mendoza and they have so many other holes to fill, but then i don't know how much the #2 pick would actually fetch this year.
