Subject: Concern regarding conduct of a UNAM Psychology graduate Denisse Zarza
Dear Faculty of Psychology Administration and Ethics Committee,
I am writing to bring a concerning series of public social media posts by a graduate who publicly identifies as an alumna of the UNAM Faculty of Psychology to the attention of the Faculty.
The individual’s name is Denisse Zarza.
Their social media accounts are:
X/Twitter: @sanchangyu (Display name: "nisse saw ateez")
Instagram: @denissezrz
Their public LinkedIn profile identifies them as a graduate of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) Faculty of Psychology, with their studies listed as 2017 – 2021. Her participation in the 2020 UNAM Final Report further confirms this affiliation.
The individual is actively using her social media platform to make false, damaging, and defamatory accusations against individuals, publicly claiming they are "friends with a rapist." This behavior constitutes severe harassment and raises grave concerns about her professional judgment and ethical foundation.
UNAM is not just an alma mater; it is the institution that certifies an individual's foundational understanding of human behavior and mental health. A degree in Psychology implies a commitment to the principles of non-maleficence (do no harm) and integrity. By engaging in targeted cyberbullying, defamation, and unhinged public accusations, she demonstrates a profound lack of the emotional regulation, empathy, and ethical compass required of a mental health professional.
If she were to enter clinical practice, this inability to distinguish between personal conflicts and reality and her willingness to weaponize severe criminal accusations poses a direct and alarming risk to potential patients. Vulnerable individuals seeking therapy could be subjected to her erratic judgment and harmful behavior. UNAM has a duty of care to the public to ensure its graduates do not become dangerous practitioners.
Thousands of hardworking UNAM psychology graduates dedicate their careers to ethically supporting marginalized communities, victims of violence, and those in crisis. They work tirelessly to build public trust in mental health services. Behavior like Ms. Zarza’s erodes that trust. It tarnishes the reputation of the entire field and the university's academic legacy.
Of particular concern is the nature of her false accusations. Ms. Zarza is publicly and repeatedly accusing specific individuals of being "friends with a rapist." This is not a casual opinion or a difference of opinion. It is a direct, serious, and defamatory accusation of association with a violent crime.
Making such accusations without evidence, and using them to harass individuals online, demonstrates a reckless disregard for the truth and for the harm caused to others. This behavior is fundamentally incompatible with the ethical principles of non-maleficence and integrity required of a psychology professional. A graduate who weaponizes serious criminal accusations to attack others online cannot be trusted to handle the sensitive disclosures of vulnerable patients in a clinical setting.
I urgently request that the Faculty's Ethics Committee investigate this matter. UNAM must take action to protect the integrity of the psychology profession and the safety of the public.
Attached is evidence of her defamatory statements, her admission of graduation, and additional context regarding her public conduct.
I would appreciate it if the Faculty could look into this matter and ensure that appropriate action is taken if the individual is confirmed to be a graduate of UNAM.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
