Iconic merch is going to be first aired at @DENOGnews 16 this fall
A winner of our workshop quiz will get the very first containerlab T-shirt.
I heard it cuts the container build times by 2 🏗️
This PR would make integrations with OSS/BSS/NMS finally straightforward and unlock many new use cases that required nasty workaround before.

There is a PR by one of our contributors that can be the biggest and nicest change that happened to vrnetlab and the management connectivity mode
https://t.co/E7aMytaKgv
We are asking your attention as it introduces a much cleaner way to handle management connectivity for the VM-based nodes.
Transparent mgmt connection for your nodes instead of relying on a fake/static IP we used to have.
Oops, we did it again 🤗
Three years ago, we shook up the networking space with the release of a freely available SR Linux container image. This was a catalyst for many great community projects, such as Containerlab, gNMIc, and many others.
Today, we are announcing the availability of an ARM64 version* of the SR Linux container image 🎉
Free, public, ARM64 native.
* - preview version.
With ARM64 version of our container image, you can finally make your expensive typing machines with a fruit logo to do some actual work by running a networking lab.
There are so many things to I wanted to explain and show you, so I went and recorded a 40 minutes deep dive on the topics of
- Who can be interested in running labs on ARM64 arch?
- What challenges are ahead of us when ARM64 is the target architecture?
- What Network OSes can you run on it?
- How docker runs on macOS?
- What tools would I recommend using?
- And how I run containerlabs on macOS.
You will find a link to the YT video in the comments.
If you are in or adjacent to networking, this might be quite an entertaining show and hopefully this would make netorking labs even more accessible to the community 🚀
Not so long ago, Adam from @CodiLime helped us add support for SONiC VMs in @go_containerlab.
This was a breakthrough moment as I then could ctrl+v this for the @Dell flavored SONiC and pave the way to BCOM SONiC as well.
But Adam did not stop with a code contribution, he also augmented this with a nice 15 minutes video about it
@rknall@WiresharkNews@wiresharkfest @TheDiveoO yep, edgeshark is awesome. Once you try it there is no way back.
I wish @TheDiveoO would have the powers to open source the k8s version of it 🥰
5️⃣ Ready for ARM
Soon we will reach the network labbing nirvana with both Nokia and Arista working on ARM images for their SR Linux and cEOS simulators.
In anticipation for this we've tuned up our release pipeline to make sure that clab container is built for ARM64 architecture
A new v0.56.0 release with lots of goodies!
1️⃣ Interface aliases
Yeah, it has been a long time coming, but thanks to a brilliant contribution done by one of our community members Containerlab can now offer human-friendly interface naming in its topology file.
Let’s try that again and deploy BGP and Cilium v1.16 this time 😅
A whole bunch of changes happened with the BGP control plane 🤯
Let’s investigate and use container lab to test this all out 😎
See y’all tomorrow!!! (YouTube below, or LinkedIn or join here!)
