Sad news indeed. Dave was a great guy and an excellent journalist. A leading member of the press 'pack' from whom I learnt a great deal back in the day. Old School in the best way.

The Westminster system made people poorer with austerity and Brexit - and now it’s trying to distract from those failures by scapegoating people who have been through unimaginable hardship.
It is pathetic, it is cowardly and I will have no part in it.

Vote Sarwar, get Farage.

❌ Broken Britain is holding Scotland back but with the full powers of an independent nation we can change Scotland’s course.
🤝 We will always fight for that future.
