@OtisMoneyman@moniza_hossain I disagree. If we're doing a '90s comparison, it's more like parents who read to their children every day and filled their home with books compared to those who didn't. Children who end up reading for fun have much better outcomes.
@r_vonhagn@himbopresident It's true. My gen x neighbor said of her 16 year old son, "he's wearing way too much cologne, but I can't tell him!" Like...WHY?! Just tell him!! And I like this woman a lot, she's a classic cool gen Xer, but that comment had me scratching my head.
@sapphyreblayze But wait, what's wrong with supporting family values? The family at large is a vital part of community and we should bring it back. it makes us stronger as a people. I don't think family values and environmentalism are at odds at all.
@BenAnderson_BJJ @JohnRou63401193@LoneStarChica Yep. And even costs $3 MILLION dollars where I live. You have to be making absolute bank to be living in the type of home you'd imagine a firefighter and teacher living in. See: https://t.co/PGktyhCZA6
@MuscleIQ2@hannahapexfit Agree her running stats seemed pretty intense. When I was in my twenties your average fit girl was not running 8 minute miles! Much less your average 25 year old, period.
@treetownsugar@VN5809065017027@HannahDCox That's what almost makes it sting worse. I know you're the best of the best but you won't put in one ounce of effort for your wife? Who also works full time and runs the whole household?
@treetownsugar@VN5809065017027@HannahDCox You'd think. My husband has a .01% white collar job that only those with excellent capabilities and pedigree can attain and YET the man couldn't even get the kids to make me a Mother's Day card. And never any gifts. He did take the kids out for 2 hours, though, lucky me.
@emilyinvc Most conservative people I know sit around and talk about what color to paint their fence, whose new baby is ugly, and petty celebrity gossip.
@CJFerguson1111@j00ny369T So you think it's a good thing giving children devices 24/7? It hasn't caused any damage to them or society at large whatsoever? Maybe your little bubble of kids is fine but the vast majority are not okay.
@banterrealism@nominalthoughts This is such a smart list. #1 is huge. Is anyone talking about this? We need to do something about these awful dating apps but I don't feel like anyone (but you!) is focusing on them.
