The translator is an incarcerated man who is the pastor of the Spanish church in the prison! Prisons from across the state were bused in to the Angola Rodeo Arena to hear the love and hope of Jesus preached. In a place marked by chains, freedom broke out. 🔥 we SURPRISED an inmate to lead WORSHIP for her prison!! We asked her to lead the prison favorite song “I Trust in God.” The moment she opened her mouth, the entire room ERUPTED in praise! Hundreds of voices shouting, “I sought the Lord, and He heard, and He answered!” In a place built for despair, HOPE filled every corner. Even behind bars, Jesus is still setting people free! A Day With Over 2,000 Inmates Inside Angola Prison 🙏🏼🎨❤️

I joined @GodBehindBars during their event yesterday at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, the largest prison in the country. I’ve never experienced anything as powerful as this in my 23 year career. Grateful to be a small part of this moment.

Inmate Mother’s traded in their prison clothes for DRESSES to REUNITE with their children for Easter! Some of these mom’s had never hugged their children until today. Some of these children had NEVER seen their mom in a dress before! This event had NEVER happened inside of this Federal Prison. These mothers WEPT as they held their children with no restrictions. Some of the mothers said, “I feel like a mom, I feel like a woman” This was made possible because of the @OfficialFBOP, @BOPDirector, and @BOPDepDirector WE ARE SO GRATEFUL!

FIRST TIME Incarcerated Moms Wear Dresses to Reunite With Their Children | Alderson Federal Prison. This is the FIRST time incarcerated mothers inside Federal Prison Camp Alderson traded prison uniforms for Easter dresses to reunite with their children. In partnership with the @OfficialFBOP , 23 mothers embraced their children, some for the very FIRST time, and many after more than 3 years apart. For these children, this moment was different… they didn’t just see their mother incarcerated they saw her in a beautiful dress, restored and wrapped in dignity. We extend our deepest gratitude to @BOPDirector and @BOPDepDirector for allowing this HISTORIC moment in prison! This is what rehabilitation looks like.

🙏🏼This incarcerated mother has NEVER HUGGED her daughter and hasn’t seen her children in 3 years… We got to do the impossible and take her out of prison clothes and into an EASTER DRESS to reunite with her children!
