Thank God it is Jumu'ah. On this special day of congregational prayer, I wish Jumu'ah Mubarak to all. To our Creator and Supreme Being (Al-Mutakabbir), we ask You for the good of this world, and seek refuge in You from evil. In Arabic, I say to the Muslim Ummah, As-salamu alaykum, meaning Peace be upon you. I also say to those who will mark Shabbat later today, Shalom Aleichem, which means exactly the same thing in Hebrew. Even the response to both prayers/greetings is identical. In Arabic, it is alaykum as-salam, meaning 'Upon you be peace, too', and in Hebrew the response is Aleichem shalom, with the exact meaning as in Arabic. There is only One God, and we pray that today we will develop the highest reverential Muhabbah to our Creator, Al-Wadud (the most Loving) God, and for the Almighty to help us attain tasamuh, which will help humanity achieve peaceful religious coexistence, and that our Creator helps humankind overcome war, strife and insecurity even as we embrace Salaam (Peace), Farah (Joy), Shifa (Health) Iman (Faith), Qana'ah (Contentment), and Sabr (Patience). May God bless you by Hearing and Answering your du'a as you gather for Salatul-Jumu'ah. May the Almighty preserve our lives, whether you are a Jew, Muslim, Christian or Traditional African Religion adherent. Once again, Jumu'ah Mubarak. Bemigho Reno Omokri
