A NEW WEEK. A RENEWED PURPOSE.
Every new week presents another opportunity to listen, learn and work towards a better society.
Our commitment remains rooted in empowering communities, strengthening civic awareness and ensuring that the voices of wananchi are heard.
Progress is meaningful when people are informed, included and actively involved.
May this week bring renewed hope, unity and positive action.

The people’s engagement continues in Mahoo B, Mahoo Ward, Taveta, as we remain committed to listening to our people, understanding their concerns, and sharing ideas on how to improve community livelihoods.
Every voice matters, and every opinion counts. Through these engagements, we strengthen the bond between leadership and the community while building a shared vision for inclusive and sustainable development.
Listening to the people is the first step towards serving them better.

WHY DOES Hon Joyce Lay FIGHT FOR BUNGE LA MWANANCHI IMPLEMENTATION ?
This is because, democracy does not end when citizens cast their votes. Citizens can continue to participate by understanding public decisions, attending forums, submitting views on proposed laws, asking questions and holding public institutions accountable.
For example, a community can use a citizens' forum to discuss poor roads, access to water, youth unemployment or the use of public funds. Participants can identify the issue, examine available information, propose solutions and present their concerns to the appropriate authority.
The main aim is to make civic participation meaningful, informed and continuous.

HAPPY WEEKEND🙏
MY VISION FOR BUNGE LA MWANANCHI 🇰🇪
Fellow Kenyans,
I believe that an informed citizen is an empowered citizen. Our people deserve opportunities to understand the Constitution, learn about their rights and responsibilities, and participate meaningfully in decisions that affect their lives.
Bunge la Mwananchi provides a platform for ordinary citizens to discuss issues affecting their communities, share ideas, raise concerns and engage in constructive dialogue about governance and development.
My vision is to encourage a culture of civic education where citizens understand how public institutions work, how laws are made, and how they can participate in shaping the future of their communities.
Through civic education and meaningful public participation, we can encourage:
▪️ Greater awareness of our constitutional rights and responsibilities.
▪️ Active participation in public affairs and community development.
▪️ Transparency and accountability in governance.
▪️ Constructive dialogue between citizens and public institutions.
▪️ Greater understanding of laws and the Constitution, including through accessible Kiswahili information.
Our Constitution recognizes that sovereign power belongs to the people. Every citizen therefore has a role to play in building an informed, responsible and participatory democracy.
I encourage our communities, especially young people, to take an active interest in civic education, understand their rights and responsibilities, and participate constructively in matters affecting our nation.
An informed mwananchi is better equipped to participate in building a better society.

Public participation is not about leaders imposing their plans on the people; it is about listening to citizens, understanding their concerns, and including them in decisions that shape their lives.
Bunge la Mwananchi must give every Kenyan a platform to speak, participate, and contribute to our nation’s progress.
The people’s voices matter. 🇰🇪
