Jesuit priest, Fr. Peter Ryan SJ, visited his brother William, a Fidei Donum priest from Washington, at his missionary parish in Togo, West Africa. During the visit, a delegation from an important family arrived. They had decided to renounce their ancestral idol and asked Fr. William to destroy it. Several neighboring families joined them.
The big day began with a Mass, followed by a procession of hundreds of people from the church to the houses. There, holy water and exorcised salt were used. Fr. Peter enthusiastically smashed the idols with a sledgehammer before burning the remains.
The faithful sang “Yesu enye dzidula! (Jesus is the victor!). Finally, the pagan shrine was demolished and a large cross was placed in the middle of the rubble.

I try not to comment or judge actions of church leaders but in all honesty sspx is right in doing all it takes to preserve sacred traditions even if it means being labeled heretic or schismatics.
God bless their resolve and God bless the pope.
The comments in this tweet shows how unaware people are on this matter.
Rome is wrong as far as i am concerned. You have time to meet heretics, muslims and preach about unity of world religion but refuse to meet the superiors of SSPX or even extend an olive branch to them?
One striking aspect of the SSPX announcement today is the age range of the bishop-elects: mostly young and middle-aged priests, some as young as their 30s and 40s.
This suggests that the movement is not thinking in short-term survival mode, but in generational continuity. By consecrating younger bishops without papal mandate, the SSPX appears to be positioning itself for decades of independent episcopal succession outside normal canonical structures.
That is why I see this move as more than an internal traditionalist dispute. It raises deeper questions about obedience, ecclesial communion, and the long-term risk of institutionalizing separation from Rome while still claiming fidelity to the Catholic Church.
@FrUgochukwu Dear Fr. If you have followed this SSPX issues and from a neutral and prayerful point of view, you will know that the issue is not just about disobeying or not submitting to rome.
I support the SSPX and i believe they are the Paul of our time calling peter out for his cowardice
I am publicly rejecting the Synod on Synodality and its inclusion agenda, which seeks to promote homosexuality within the Catholic Church. I stand fully opposed to it.
As a Catholic, I affirm that the previous and the current Magisterium, along with recent actions, is acting in contradiction to the clear teaching of the previous three pontificates — those of Saint Paul VI, Saint John Paul II, and Benedict XVI. I oppose the Synod on Synodality in its present direction and orientation.
I have already spoken the truth on this matter, and I will continue to do so.

Migrating from Padded Budgets to Forged Laws
Our national shame continues to unfold, evident in the decisions made by our leaders, even at the highest levels of government. This shame is highlighted by a deeply troubling—and frankly unacceptable—issue: the documented discrepancies between what the legislature passed and what was ultimately published as law by the executive. This is not merely an administrative oversight; it is a serious matter that strikes at the core of constitutional governance and reveals the extent of our institutional decay.
We have transitioned from a Nigeria where budgets are padded to one where laws are forged—changes that impact taxpayers' rights and, most importantly, access to justice.
Even more alarming is the introduction of new enforcement and coercive powers that the House of Representatives never approved. These include an outrageous requirement for a mandatory 20% deposit before appeals can be heard in court, asset sales without judicial oversight, and the granting of arrest powers to tax authorities.
Perhaps most disturbing is the silence of the Presidency on a matter involving allegations of forgery, institutional sabotage, and abuse of process. Who made these alterations?
All of this must be made public. Nigerians need to understand what was signed, what was passed, and what was formally recorded. We cannot continue to ask citizens to pay more taxes while trust in governance collapses.
We need leadership that follows due process, embraces transparency and accountability, and respects the rule of law. No nation can thrive where laws are forged and silence replaces leadership.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I urge all faithful Catholics to read and share this as widely as possible. Share it with your priests and bishops and urge them to heed this message.
This pastoral letter examines the truth about the Second Vatican Council – its noble intentions, its human frailty, and the infiltration that sought to redirect the Church from within. While some entered the Council desiring genuine renewal, others placed a fragile hope in mercy without definition, and still others used the moment to sow confusion. This letter calls the faithful to read Vatican II in full continuity with the unbroken Magisterium, recognizing that its pastoral nature defined no new dogma. It distinguishes the authentic Council from the false “spirit of Vatican II” that introduced rupture into doctrine, worship, and governance, urging bishops and faithful alike to restore clarity, sacred liturgy, and fidelity to the Deposit of Faith. Its message is clear: renewal must mean holiness, not novelty; mercy must never replace truth; and Christ, “the same forever,” remains the measure of all reform. https://t.co/3NUSpEOGxk
