Heard a story of an AAU coach who put all 10 of his players on the floor at tip off. The refs told him that 5 needed to get off the court. He didn't and got a tech. He turned to the parents behind the bench and said, "See, I told you that they all couldn't start!"
If CJ Abrams was putting up these type of numbers on a team in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, etc., his face and name would be plastered all over ESPN, FOX, etc.
He is an absolute superstar.
The 2026 Yankees are making a very strong case for having the best pitching staff in baseball, and Matt Blake deserves a huge amount of credit for it. Since Matt Blake joined the Yankees, their pitching staff ranks top five in MLB in ERA, WHIP, strikeout rate, K/9, opponents’ slugging percentage and opponents’ OPS. Some careers he’s turned around include Clay Holmes, Luke Weaver, Nestor Cortes, Brent Headrick, Paul Blackburn, etc. Not to mention developing Cam Schlittler into an ace. Matt Blake deserves more recognition and respect.
The 3 Yankee Aces gave up
3 ER in 20.1 innings to the Braves
I've never been more sure about a Yankee unit in a long time. The Yankees rotation is a juggernaut
In consecutive starts vs one of the best teams in the NL:
Fried 6.1IP 3H 0ER 2BB 7K’s
Cole 7IP 6H 2ER 0BB 9K’s
Cam 7IP 3H 1ER 0BB 11K’s
Just get them a little bit of offense and let these horses run in October 🐴
Yankees trio of aces dominated one of baseballs best offenses this weekend.
Fried: 6.1 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 7 SO, 2 BB
Cole: 7 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 9 SO, 0 BB
Schlittler: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 11 SO, 0 BB
The offensive struggles have been well documented, but these horses are gonna give you a fair shot in October.

Grisham and Jazz pulled because they are legitimately the worst at bats for the last 2 months and they are sitting there like fucking pussies in fucking t shirts with facial expressions that just PISS you off. Wanna act like a cry baby when u get pulled, but can’t make adjustment
Spencer Jones said that, in the cafeteria after Saturday’s game, George Lombard Jr. was already quizzing teammates about Grant Holmes -- Atlanta’s starter for Sunday afternoon.
“He’s super mature for his age. He loves baseball,” Jones said. “We were eating just now and he’s talking about the pitcher for tomorrow. It just kind of shows you where his head is at.”
Matt Patricia said that Jaylen McClain and Payton Pierce will be the signal callers on defense this season. 👀
That’s definitely worth keeping an eye on as the season approaches…
