On first sight, Elie Golf Club immediately became, and will always and forever be, one of my favorite places for a day of golf.
12 miles due south of St. Andrews in East Neuk, Fife, the third-oldest golf course in the world has been entertaining and confounding golfers since the 15th century. James Braid, a five-time Open champion and one of the greatest golf architects in history, learned the game here.
Gorgeous views of cliffs at Kincraig Point and across the Firth of Forth to North Berwick provide all the visual appeal a golfer could want, and the wonderful terrain and brilliant routing serve up endlessly interesting golf shots.
This is the Scottish version of Fishers Island in the U.S. or Rye in England, and the charm of this links and the town it sits in is simply endless. If you’re going to St. Andrews, do yourself a favor and take the time to arrange a round here.
What a location 😍 a chilled evening ahead, fingers crossed a boat trip tomorrow to an island I have always wanted to visit, but the wind and rain is on the way 🙈 #OuterHebrides
